My Baby Turns Two!

My baby boy is now two. I can't believe how fast he has grown. He is such a fun kid. He talks like crazy, saying complete sentences. He was completely potty trained before he turned two. He loves four wheelers, motorcycles, tools and Handy Manny (because Handy Manny has tools and rides a motorcycle). Tucker loves to sing "I Child God." He always has something in each hand. He gets into mischief a lot but mostly when he's wearing his Mr. Mischief t-shirt. He loves sour cream, and eats it straight from the container with a spoon. He loves bears, especially polar bears. We love our Tucky Bear!

Soccer Boys

With three of our boys in soccer this year, it has been crazy. Six games and three practices per week plus Dan and I are coaching T.J.'s team. It is so much fun though. It is so nice to have the boys get rid of some of that energy!

I Love Being a Mom!!

I love every single second I get to spend being a mom. The other day I was balancing my checkbook and I was in a crappy mood about my $167.00 power bill. I looked over and saw this:

How could I not smile about this? Even while writing out the check, I had a huge grin on my face. My kids make me so happy.

On Saturday morning I stumbled into the shower at 6:30 to make it to the first of three soccer games that day. I was tired and wishing I could just crawl back into bed. I see this:

I started laughing and was glad to be awake. Ready to spend the day with my 4 wonderful boys.

Plunger

This kid has always been crazy about toilet plungers. From the time he started crawling, his goal in life has been to play with one. Of course this is disgusting and my goal has been to not let him. I finally decided it would make both of our lives easier if he had his own plunger, never to be used in a toilet, to play with. This is us at the dollar store.

He looked at all the toys, and never once let go of the plunger.

Happy Birthday Brayden!!

This birthday was all about frogs. Brayden asked for a frog habitat to put his tadpoles in. I took frog cupcakes in to his class. And, he had a frog cake. When we asked him if he wanted to go to Boondocks or Pirate Island, we weren't surprised when he said, "Let's go FROGGING!" That was just fine with me since it was free.

Heber Valley RR

We had so much fun on the Heber Creeper. We went on the Soldier Hollow express. The boys LOVED it. We especially liked it when two train robbers came aboard. They acted out a fun little skit.

Bear World

One of our favorite places to go is Bear World in Idaho. We LOVE getting to see the wildlife up close. Tucker was pointing to all the bears and growling.

Vacation Highlights:

Bridger loved that there is a grizzly named Bridger.
A baby goat jumped up on Brayden's shoulder.
TJ did a head dive into the hot tub at the hotel.
Tucker spilled a large Sprite down the front of both of us.

My Turkey Hunt

This beautiful morning started for us at 4:30 am. After a short drive up the canyon, we made our way through the pitch darkness to our blind. We settled in and waited for dawn. All 6 of us in our 6 x 6 hideout. The dim lights from the boys' muted nintendo ds' gave off a nice glow. As we sat there waiting for light, we could hear turkeys all around us. When it was finally light enough to shoot, Dan called a few times. We had two toms come strutting in. While they were trying to impress our decoys I blasted one. What a wonderful day.

My little guy has no desire to learn to crawl because he is so mobile in his "cruiser." Tucker gets into mischief, tipping over the garbage can and getting into drawers.

This is Dan's South Dakota whitetail buck. He left right after Thanksgiving dinner and was gone the whole weekend. The kids and I had fun getting out Christmas stuff and eating lots of leftovers.

Dan built this awesome tree house for the boys at Grandpa and Grandma Peay's property. It took two Saturdays to complete. I just stood on the ground and kept telling him, "It needs to be bigger. Think four boys." Finally he told me to worry about the dutch oven dinner and he'll worry about the tree house. He did keep adding on to it and I think it is plenty big enough now. The kids will have so much fun playing in it this summer.

We went to the Books Cliffs over Easter weekend for Dan's turkey hunt. It was very muddy but we had a lot of fun. This is one trip I hope the kids will always remember.

As Seen On TV

My kids are sold on every "As seen on TV" item they see. I will be in a different room and hear, "MOM! Come quick, RUN!" I think the house is on fire. When I get to the family room there is an info-mercial on and Bridger is writing down the 1-800 number. When I bought paper towels at Costco, Brayden said, "See mom, you wouldn't have to buy these if you would have bought the Sham Wow. They last for 2o years!" He told me that, "the Miracle Blade can chop a pineapple into mid air!" Bridger adds, "And it comes with free scissors!" None of the things they want to order are for kids. Bridger wants to order the thing that, "cooks eggs in like, 20 seconds." And the thing that, "cooks bacon without all that grease." We did purchase the Pedi-paw for Koda for Christmas. I'll admit, it does work pretty good. We found the Topsy Turvy Tomato at Home Depot. The kids begged so I bought it. They hate tomatoes!

BOYS

My boys are 100% boy! They amaze me every day with their manliness. Bridger poked his head in from the garage and hollered, "Mom, do we have any duct tape?" I just had to laugh. Bridger has been building little piles of sticks and dead leaves on the driveway. He begs me to start them on fire. I would rather him be a pyro while I am right there. So, I give him a large cup of water and tell him that he's the fireman. We start a fire and then he puts it out. I really hope the neighbors don't call the fire department on us. He will be a great Boy Scout.

On the way home from a friends house, Brayden found a dead bird. So, what does he do? Brings it home. Right while I'm making dinner. Then he wonders why I make him wash his hands 3 times. Brayden loves the Cabellas hunting game. I will be upstairs and I'll hear him yell, "Mom, come and look at this trophy mule deer!" He is always talking about tree houses and rope ladders.

Tanner watched Dan put together a bunk bed using his drill. Ever since, he has been begging for a drill. I took him to the toy store, but he doesn't want a toy one. He wants an 18 volt cordless Dewalt. This morning Tanner crawled into my bed. He just laid there with his eyes open. After a few minutes, I asked him, "What are you thinking about?" Without hesitation, he said, "Moose hunting. I get my bvroom bvroom (power wheels 4 wheeler) and my big bb gun and go to Pa's property and shoot a big moose."

Boys love to make armpit noises.

A most useful Valentine

Bridger gave this to me for Valentines Day. It's paper lips on a stick. He said I could use it if I'm a little mad at Dad and he tries to give me a kiss. I could just hold it up in front of my lips and make a smooch sound. How useful! I will carry it around with me wherever I go. I wish I had one of these years ago. I'm thinking about selling them on EBay.

Kids are so funny. Even when you think they are not paying attention to what's going on, they are. The scary truth about being a parent: Your kids are watching every move you make!

Crazy Life

Sometimes life can get so crazy. As I was making dinner, helping with homework, the dog was barking at the door, the washing machine was going off balance and Tanner asks me, "Can you please fix this Mom?"

I love every moment I get to spend being a Mom.

Kids

Bridger has decided that he is too old to have his mom hug and kiss him in the school parking lot. He said, "We are going to take care of that before we get to school." He is still girl crazy and insists that he is going to marry Hannah. He even asked if he could give her my wedding ring. I guess he got that idea from watching Spiderman. He talks about being a farmer when he grows up, so he can "give the poor people food."

The other day my dad asked Brayden if he wanted to hear a monster story. Brayden said, "NO! I don't even believe in monsters. I only believe in Jesus and Santa." He is such a sweetheart. He not only helps Tanner and Adrie in the Carl's Jr. playland but also all the other two year olds who can't make it up on their own.

Tanner has been singing The Farmer in the Jail. I can say I really don't know what a dell is either. During Sacrament Meeting he started singing "Dreidle dreidle dreidle, I made it out of clay." Which is a song Bridger learned at school when they were learning about different cultures. I tried to get him to stop but of course that only made him sing louder.

Bridger and Brayden have decided that they want to do chores to earn money. It has been a week since we started their charts, so today was payday. They quickly found out that the amount of work you put in, determines the amount of your pay. They are both committed to doing more work this week. We are still working out some of the rules. For instance, you cannot make your bed right before bedtime. Also, you can't do your morning tooth brushing and nighttime brushing in one trip to the bathroom. One of the chores on their lists are to pick up their toys. I think it's a little weird to pay them to clean up their own mess. But, if it means I don't have to do it, I'm happy. Bridger is a con-artist and has already talked Brayden into combining their money. Of course he wants to keep it in his room. I asked Tanner if he wants to have his own chart and he said, "NO!" He doesn't know what cash is used for. If I offered him a credit card as payment, he would definitely go for it.

Hardware Ranch

This is one of my favorite family traditions. We started this tradition the year I was pregnant with Bridger. Every winter we go to Hardware Ranch in Cache Valley. It is 13 miles up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. These are all wild elk that come to the ranch to feed. This year there were a lot of elk because of all the snow. The kids love the horse drawn wagon ride.

Little boys are so cute in camo. They love their "huntin' clothes!" The first baby item we always buy when we find out that we're expecting a baby is camo.
